We tried four flavors of CBDfx’s Terpene Vape Pens: Gelato, OG Kush, Pineapple Express, and Platinum Rose.

Concentration

CBDfx’s Terpene Vape Pens use full-spectrum hemp and contain 50mg of CBD plus 25-45mg of terpenes, which is dependent on the flavor.

According to the third-party lab results for our specific pens, they each were almost exactly 50mg.

However, while full-spectrum extract contains more than cannabinoids, the only cannabinoid detected on the lab results was CBD.

Perhaps because the CBD concentration was already small, the minor cannabinoids were too low for detection.

Regardless, we’d expect to see at least one other cannabinoid register.

A concentration of 50mg seems quite small, even when factoring in the terpenes.

Currently, the terpene vape pens are CBDfx’s highest concentration in their vaping line.

For comparison, vape pens from brands like CBDistillery and Social CBD (formerly, Select CBD) include concentrations of 125mg, 200mg, and 250mg.

Despite all this, we found the pens to be surprisingly effective, so we can’t complain.

Value

All of the Terpene Vape Pens cost $19.99, which comes out to $0.400/mg.

The price per mg is quite high, which is due to the low concentration.

However, when looking at vape pens in general, CBDfx has some of the best prices.

In comparison with the pens from CBDistillery and Social CBD, CBDfx is about $5-$15 lower.

If you find the vape pens to be useful, then CBDfx is probably the brand for you.

Packaging

All of the CBDfx pens from in small boxes that are color-coded by flavors.

The packaging provides an ingredients list, QR code for easy access to third-party results, and information about CBDfx’s operation.

As for the pens, they are the typical size for disposable pens.

They are all wrapped in white and gold paper, so it can be difficult to differentiate which pen you have if it’s not in its packaging.

The mouthpiece of the pen is plastic and comes with a silicone sheath to cover the mouthpiece.

When in use, the pen lights up.

The only real downside to the pens is you cannot tell how much vape juice is left.

Ingredients

The ingredients for the CBDfx Terpene Vape Pens include: Propylene Glycol, Vegetable Glycerin, Proprietary Blend of Natural Terpenes and Cannabidiol (CBD).

Our only concern with the ingredients is the propylene glycol.

Some research shows that at certain temperatures, it may produce formaldehyde, a known carcinogen.

However, CBDfx controls the temperature of the pens to mitigate this risk.

Scent & Flavor

All of the flavors have a noticeable and somewhat distinct taste.

Gelato, our team’s overall favorite, has a variety of flavors, primarily citrus.

Pineapple Express tastes sweet and slightly fruity, Platinum Rose is sweeter than Pineapple Express, and OG Kush is more herbal.

Effectiveness

We tested the effects of the CBDfx Terpene Vape Pens on discomfort, energy, relaxation, and sleep.

Although we found them useful in certain aspects, we did not notice a discernible difference in effectiveness between the pens.

The most noticeable benefits the pens offered was promoting relaxation and alleviating discomfort.

Our team was in a better mood and felt calmer after taking a few puffs.

The pens also helped a headache as well as mildly relieving pressure in the sinuses.

Concentration

The gel capsules contain full-spectrum hemp extract and have 25mg of CBD per capsule.

According to the certificate of analysis for the capsules, the capsules had 25.38mg of CBD.

At 25mg per capsule, this product is on par with many other brands that create capsules.

Each product contains 30 capsules, with one capsule counting as one serving.

Value

CBDfx charges $59.99 for each bottle, which comes out to $0.080/mg.

This is a great price in comparison with other capsules.

Products from some brands can go as high as $80 for a similar concentration and amount of capsules.

CBDistillery, known for offering products at affordable prices, charges the same amount for their 25mg, 30ct capsules.

Packaging

The capsules come in a clear bottle that closely resembles a pill bottle with its child-proof lid.

Like other CBDfx products, the bottle provides an ingredient list, QR code, and information about the brand.

CBDfx suggests that you take one softgel per day.

The lid is easy enough to take off and should not give adults many problems.

As for the softgels themselves, they are a transparent gold color.

They also stick to the bottom of the bottle often.

Here are the ingredients for the CBDfx Gel Capsules: MCT Oil, Full-spectrum CBD Hemp Oil, and Gelatin.

These are basic ingredients, but both CBD and MCT oil can provide unique health benefits.

As we expected, there are no noticeable scents or flavors when using the capsules.

Effectiveness

We tested the effects of the CBDfx Gel Capsules on relaxation, discomfort, and sleep.

Our team was a little bit disappointed by the capsules’ usefulness.

We found them to have some benefits for relaxation, putting us in a better mood, and getting us ready for bed.

Unfortunately, we did notice many other effects.

CBDfx Muscle Balm Review

We tested the CBDfx CBD Muscle Balm.

Concentration

The Muscle Balm is 2oz, uses broad-spectrum hemp extract, and has 150mg of CBD, which is 75mg/oz.

Our particular product had 148.2mg of CBD, according to the third-party lab results.

However, there were no minor cannabinoids that were detected during third-party testing.

This is somewhat concerning since the Muscle Balm is a broad-spectrum product.

The expectation with broad-spectrum extract is to see additional cannabinoids besides THC.

In comparison with other CBD topicals intended for discomfort and occasional aches, the concentration in CBDfx’s Muscle Balm is below average.

Despite this, we found the Muscle Balm to be quite useful.

Value

The Muscle Balm costs $39.99, which clocks in at $0.267/mg and $20.000/oz.

The price per mg is hefty for a CBD topical, and while our team enjoys it much more than the average CBD topical, we recommend waiting for a sale.

Packaging

CBDfx’s Muscle Balm comes in a metal tin with a screw-top lid.

The labeling on the lid says the product is broad-spectrum and non-GMO.

As for the bottom labeling, the text was difficult to read, but it provides an FDA disclaimer, an ingredients list, and a QR code.

Printed on the tin itself were the batch number and expiration date, which was set for nearly two years after we received it.

Ingredients

The ingredients list for the Muscle Balm included: Sunflower Oil, Jojoba Oil, Beeswax, Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Tocopherol, Peppermint Oil, CBD Rich Hemp Oil (150mg), Camphor Oil, and Wintergreen Oil.

In addition to CBD, camphor, peppermint, and wintergreen all may offer benefits for muscle soreness and occasional aches.

Camphor is used in Icy Hot, while peppermint and wintergreen have evidence from research that they may help with relieving discomfort.

All three can also have a cooling or warming sensation on the skin.

Texture & Scent

The Muscle Balm is slightly firm with a mildly grainy texture.

You may need to warm the balm for a moment before the first application.

When applying to the skin, the balm spreads easily and smoothly.

The balm did not make our skin feel oily or greasy.

A mild cooling or warming sensation may be noticeable.

The Muscle Balm smelled strongly of wintergreen and peppermint, but the scent will dissipate shortly after applying.

Effectiveness

We tested the effects of the CBDfx CBD Muscle Balm on recovery, irritation, and skincare.

The balm was most helpful for recovery, significantly soothing sore muscles, and accelerating our recovery timeline.

It relieved tension in the muscles caused by stress as well.

We also found it helpful for irritation.

A team member had bug bites that he put the balm on.

The balm reducing the irritating itchiness and may have slightly reduced the inflammation from the bite.

CBDfx Gummies Review

We tested the 60ct, 300mg CBD Melatonin Gummies, and the 8ct, 40mg Gummies with Turmeric & Spirulina.

Concentration

Both sets of gummies contain 5mg of CBD per gummy.

The melatonin gummies also had 5mg of melatonin per serving and while the turmeric and spirulina gummies have 50mg of turmeric and 20mg of spirulina in total.

Two gummies are counted as one serving for both products.

Third-party results show the melatonin gummies had a total of 308mg of CBD, and the turmeric and spirulina gummies had 4.8mg of CBD per gummy.

This is a low concentration for CBD gummies, but not unprecedented.

PlusCBD™ Oil has gummies with the same concentration.

Our team believes the gummies would be more effective if they had higher concentrations.

Value

The melatonin gummies cost $49.99, which comes out to $0.167/mg.

The turmeric and spirulina gummies package we used costs $9.99, which is $0.250/mg; however, a 60ct, 300mg version of these gummies costs the same as the melatonin gummies.

CBDfx’s melatonin gummies are well-priced, especially considering that it contains both hemp extract and melatonin.

On the other hand, the package of turmeric and spirulina gummies is a bit expensive for what’s offered, but that’s the point.

It’s a great size to find out if you like the gummies without spending $50 off the bat.

Packaging

The melatonin gummies come in a clear bottle with a child-proof cap that is sealed underneath.

The labeling says they are broad-spectrum, gluten-free, non-GMO, and a vegan product.

On the back of the bottle, the label has supplement facts, an ingredients list, instructions on storage, QR code, and disclaimers.

As for the gummies, they are shaped like bears and are a dark yellow color.

For the turmeric and spirulina gummies, they came in a paper package.

Printed on the back are the supplement facts, ingredients, and directions, and a QR code.

The gummies themselves are green and coated in sugar.

Ingredients for the melatonin gummies include: High-Quality CBD Extracted from Organically-grown Hemp, Melatonin, Organic Cane Sugar, Organic Tapioca Syrup, Purified Water, Pectin, Tri Sodium Citrate, Citric Acid, and Natural Colors & Flavor.

Ingredients for the turmeric and spirulina gummies include: Organic Tapioca Syrup, Organic Cane Sugar, Water, Pectin, Natural Flavors, Citric Acid, Sodium Citrate, Organic Fruit and Vegetable Juice (for color) Turmeric, Spirulina, and CBD Rich Hemp Oil.

Overall, these gummies are made with the healthiest ingredients possible for gummies.

Scent & Flavor

The melatonin gummies have “Juicy Lemon” flavor, and they do indeed have a lemon taste, albeit a slight one.

They also smell mildly like lemons.

Overall, while the flavor seems a little off, it was enjoyable.

As for the turmeric and spirulina gummies, they have a sweet spirulina taste which may be unpleasant for some people.

Our team enjoyed the taste of the melatonin gummies more.

Effectiveness

We tested the effects of the melatonin gummies on relaxation and sleep.

The gummies helped us feel relaxed and tired while also promoting refreshment when we woke up.

We tested the turmeric and spirulina gummies on discomfort and recovery.

Surprisingly, they seemed to have a noticeable difference for soreness.

After doing intense exercise, taking two of the gummies noticeably decreased soreness about 30 minutes to an hour later.

Overall, we found them both useful.

CBDfx Drinks Review

We tested both the Berry Chill Shot and Lemonade Chill Shot.

Concentration

Both drinks contain 20mg of CBD from full-spectrum hemp extract and 200mg of L-Theanine in 2oz of liquid.

While it’s a low concentration, it’s on par with other CBD drinks.

Bioavailability is generally lower when taken orally and must pass through the metabolism.

At 20mg, it’s not likely much CBD will enter the bloodstream, but it may be enough for some people.

Adding L-Theanine is an exciting touch though, and reinforces the “chill” aspect of the Chill Shots.

Value

Both Chill Shots cost $6.99 individually, which is $0.350/mg and $3.500/oz.

That’s expensive for a 2oz shot; however, if you choose to buy the Lemonade Chill Shot, you can buy them in three, six, or 12-packs at a reduced rate.

Hopefully, as CBD drinks become more popular, the price will drop and make it more practical to use these regularly.

Packaging

The drinks are in 2oz, white shot bottles with screw-top caps and a seal underneath the cap.

CBDfx puts plastic packaging labels over the bottles.

It can be challenging to remove the plastic, which is necessary to take off the cap.

We found that the best way to remove the packaging is to puncture the plastic right beneath the cap.

Afterward, twist the cap, and the rest of the plastic will come off easily.

The labels contain supplement facts, an ingredients list, and a QR code.

Inside the bottle, the liquid looks clear regardless of the flavor.

Here are the ingredients for the Berry Chill Shots: Natural Berry Flavors, Soy Lecithin, Citric Acid, Sodium Chloride, Sucralose, Gellan Gum, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sodium Benzoate, L-Theanine, CBD Rich Hemp Extract, and Food Grade Ethanol.

Here are the ingredients for the Lemonade Chill Shots: USP Water, Natural Citric Acid, Soy Lecithin, Sodium Chloride, Sucralose, Sodium Benzoate, L-Theanine, Gellan Gum, Food Grade Ethanol, and CBD Rich Hemp Extract.

L-Theanine is an amino acid thought to promote relaxation and alleviate worry, making it an excellent addition to a “Chill Shot.”

Overall, the ingredients are all safe and, for the most part, pretty healthy.

The Berry Chill Shots have a moderate smell of berries and had likewise moderate berry taste.

As for the Lemonade Chill Shots, it smelled strongly of lemon and citrus.

It tasted strongly like lemonade, and it was quite tangy.

Neither one had much of a lingering aftertaste.

Our team primarily enjoyed the lemonade flavor better than the berry.

Effectiveness

Both of the Chill Shots seemed to promote focus and relaxation.

We generally felt more productive after taking a chill shot because we seemed to have an easier time focusing.

We used the 100mg, 1oz CBDfx Hemp Cream.

Concentration

The hemp cream we tested contains 100mg of CBD from broad-spectrum hemp extract in 1oz of product.

For a CBD topical product, this is a low concentration; however, the concentration is high enough that CBD should still play a significant role in the cream’s efficacy.

According to the lab report, our cream contained 105mg of CBD, but it did not detect any other cannabinoids.

Value

CBDfx charges $29.99 for the hemp cream, which comes out to $0.300/mg.

Again, this is a high price for a low amount of CBD, yet it is well-priced in comparison with other topicals intended to help with skincare and aches.

There is a larger version of this Hemp Cream that is more cost-effective at $39.99, containing 150mg in 1.7oz of cream ($0.267/mg).

The hemp cream comes in a pump dispenser with a clear plastic lid to prevent any inadvertent pumps.

As expected, the cream has a heavy menthol scent, which our team enjoyed.

Our team was quite impressed by how well this little hemp cream worked, finding it useful for all three aspects.

For skincare, it helped remove annoying blemishes over a couple of weeks of continuous use.
